West Chicago Student Annaliesa Herbst Earns Prestigious National Hispanic Recognition Award

West Chicago’s own Annaliesa Herbst has been honored with the National Hispanic Recognition Award, joining more than 90,000 students across the country who earned academic honors from the College Board’s National Recognition Program. This recognition highlights Annaliesa’s exceptional academic achievements and her dedication to excellence throughout her high school career.

The National Recognition Programs celebrate the hard work of underrepresented students who have excelled in their studies. These programs not only give students like Annaliesa a way to showcase their academic success but also connect them with colleges and scholarship providers eager to recruit top talent.

To be eligible for the National Recognition Programs, students must meet several criteria: maintain a GPA of B+ or higher, rank in the top 10% of PSAT/NMSQT or PSAT 10 test-takers in their state, or earn a score of 3 or higher on two or more AP exams by the end of 10th grade. Additionally, students must attend school in a rural or small town, or identify as African American, Hispanic/Latino, Indigenous/Native American, or be a first-generation college student…
