Utah Projected to Beat Arizona by SP+

Following a massive road win over Oklahoma State last week, Utah hosts Arizona on Saturday in another Big 12 matchup. According to ESPN analyst Bill Connelly, the Utes are projected to win 33-20. That’s around the same margin as the betting market projects—the Utes are currently favored by 12.5 points on FanDuel Sportsbook .

Arizona’s start to the Big 12 season was disappointing, as it lost 31-7 on the road to Kansas State last week. The Wildcats’ defense is struggling to begin the 2024 campaign, allowing 39 points to New Mexico in Week 1. That’s why the Utes are projected to score 33 points, even with their quarterback uncertainty.

Cameron Rising’s status bears monitoring for this matchup, as his availability would undoubtedly impact the spread. While Isaac Wilson’s start last week was highly encouraging, there’s no doubt that Rising is the more impactful passer at this point in their respective careers…
