No hangover for the Tigers, LSU doing what it wants through first quarter

Arkansas’s defense hasn’t looked this bad all season. LSU is up 10-0.

LSU’s offense did whatever it wanted against the Hogs, breaking off chunk play after chunk play. The corners are playing soft coverage on LSU’s receivers, and Garrett Nussmeier is hitting basic hitch routes for seven or eight yards a piece. Arkansas’s front seven are giving up 7.6 yards per carry on the ground. At this point, there’s nothing the defense can do to stop the Tigers.

On the second driver of the game for LSU, Arkansas did manage to stop LSU from scoring a touchdown, but it still scored a field goal. And if we’re being honest, LSU hurt themselves with four penalties…
