COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – The Coldwater Cardinal varsity volleyball team celebrated another successful season during their team banquet Sunday at Lakeland Elementary – a campaign that saw the team win their first District championship in thirteen years. Senior setter Elli Foley and senior middle blocker Ava Longstreet were both voted Most Valuable Player by their teammates.
Longstreet was also named Outstanding Offensive Player, while libero Maren DeBeau was selected Outstanding Defensive Player for the second straight year. Brooklyn Closson, Aubrey Gebbink, and Adyson Qualls shared Most Improved Player honors, Mya Porter was the Best Team Player, and Abby Garcia earned the Super Spirit Award. Braylinn Austin received the Coach’s Cardinal Award.
Foley and Longstreet were named to the Interstate 8 All-Conference First Team, while Porter and DeBeau received Honorable Mention. DeBeau, Foley, Garcia, Gebbink, Porter, Marie Powers, and Kaitlyn Senyk were named Interstate 8 Academic All-Conference.
