KALAMAZOO, Mich. — Last week, the Michigan House voted to pass a supplemental school aid budget that would provide up to $150 million for Michigan schools to use towards mental health and school safety resources.
House Democrats celebrated the supplemental bill as a ‘historic investment’ for Michigan schools, while House Republicans argued legislature should have passed their original plan that provided $300 million.

The bill, which has gone into law, also created an anonymous tip line that students can use to report improperly stored firearms.
