KALAMAZOO, Mich. — Kalamazoo city commissioners passed the 2025 city budget during their Monday night meeting.
The $388,000,000 budget was passed unanimously, with commissioners saying it is likely the city’s largest budget to ever be adopted.

“This may be our largest budget in the city’s history, if I’m not mistaken,” commissioner Chris Praedel said. “How many communities can say that they’re increasing this level of services and amenities to their citizens, but yet they are seeing lower taxes due to investment from having a foundation for excellence.”
