Last week, Luke Fickell made a change in his coaching staff by moving wide receiver coach Kenny Guiton to quarterback coach. This left an opening on his staff at an important position: wide receivers coach. There was some speculation about who Fickell would hire to address this need, and one of the early names suggested was Jordan Reid. Today, Matt Zentiz reported that Reid is the guy.

Wisconsin hires Jordan Reid to be the wide receivers coach.
Jordan Reid isn’t a splashy hire if you only look at his resume. He hasn’t really had enough time coaching to accumulate a big resume, and he wasn’t a prolific receiver in college. While he played in college for Ohio and had some success, it seems as if his niche may be coaching. He has risen the ranks quickly, going from graduate assistant at Ohio to Wake Forest as a quality control coach to Western Michigan, where he became the wide receivers coach.
He excelled at Western Michigan, where he coached up two All-MAC selections last season. Anthony Sambucci and Kenneth Womack were both honorable mention All-MAC selections. Sambucci had 412 yards on 34 receptions, while Womack had 545 yards on 39 receptions. Womack led the team in receptions and receiving yards. These two, coming off their best years, helped Reid make noise in Power 4 schools to get another promotion as he continues to catapult up the coaching ranks…
