Queens man Charged in High-Speed Chase that Ended in The Bronx

Westchester County Police have arrested a Queens man they say led police on a high-speed chase that began in Mount Vernon, into Yonkers, and ended in The Bronx.

Kieran O’Leary, public information officer for the Westchester County Police Department, told Norwood News the incident began at 9.27 a.m. on Tuesday, Sept. 17, when a police officer observed a Nissan Altima traveling at high speed on the northbound Bronx River Parkway at Oak Street in Mount Vernon.

O’Leary said the driver refused to stop, and struck two vehicles during the pursuit. “Our officers boxed the Altima in at a construction zone near The Bronx-Westchester border,” he said. “The driver rammed one of our patrol cars and then drove off again, striking the arm of one of our officers who had to jump out of the way.”…
