Sheriff urges caution as wintry mix threatens South Carolina roads

NEWBERRY COUNTY, S.C. — As a wintry mix is expected to hit South Carolina overnight, Newberry County officials are taking proactive steps to ensure residents’ safety and comfort.

Newberry County Sheriff Lee Foster said they prepared for possible road hazards early. “We’ve beefed up law enforcement on the highways by adding school resource officers to areas of concern,” he said.
