The city of Beaumont seems to be keeping a close on on restoration work set to begin on the downtown Gilbert Building after this summer’s fire.

In fact, the Beaumont City Council earlier this month expressed concern that the project hadn’t met its first deadlines and building owner Tom Flanagan had yet to pay $12,320 by Aug. 30 for the use of 34 water wall barricades…
