Better neighborhood design could boost public health, study finds

SPOKANE, Wash. — A new national study suggests walkable neighborhoods are key to increasing physical activity and improving public health.

Washington State University nutrition and exercise physiology professor Glen Duncan, the study’s lead author, said less than a quarter of Americans meet U.S. physical activity recommendations.
