Car crashed into Portland house on Christmas Eve, causing fire

A car that failed to navigate a turn in Northeast Portland crashed into the front of a home in the city’s Sullivan Gulch neighborhood on Christmas Eve.

The crash severed a gas meter, causing a gas-fueled fire to the front of the house.

The driver of the car wasn’t at the scene when firefighters arrived but the front of the home was engulfed in flames. One person and a cat were safely evacuated and no injuries were reported, according to Rick Graves, a Portland Fire & Rescue spokesperson…
