Longshoremen sue owner and manager of ship that caused Key Bridge collapse

Several Longshoremen Union members filed a class-action lawsuit against the owners and operators of the Dali ship for pay and benefits lost as a result of the Francis Scott Key Bridge collapse.

When the Key Bridge collapsed in March, and the Port of Baltimore closed, there were no jobs available for weeks. As the unions’ fiscal year comes to a close, hundreds of union members risk losing their benefits if the benchmark for hours worked to receive them isn’t met.

“You may get paid for four hours, but you’ve already been waiting for a job for 12,” longshoreman Alonzo Key said…
