ROCKFORD, Ill. (WIFR) – The Northern Illinois Training Advisory Board announces Mobile Training Unit 2 is expanding its facilities.
The 2,600 square feet expansion was announced during an open house from 9-11 a.m. Sept. 27. The extra space will be added to their current location, 527 Colman Center Dr. in Rockford.
The current space includes a 60-seat classroom, a mat room and an office space. The expansion will bring a second 24-seat classroom and a 180-degree, three-screen firearms simulator.
Jeff Schelling, Executive Director of NITAB, says, “We technically have opened the space already. Earlier in August we had one class in here for three days, and then just recently on Tuesday and Wednesday of this week, Rock Valley College Police Department was in here and they used the simulator.
