One injured, one dead after fall from boom truck at Rock County 4-H fairgrounds

JANESVILLE, Wis. — A demonstration at the Rock County 4-H Fairgrounds turned tragic Saturday morning, when two people fell from a boom truck, resulting in one death.

The Rock County Sheriff’s Office said just before 10:30 a.m., deputies responded to reports of the fall at the fairgrounds. Emergency services, including the Janesville Fire Department and the Janesville Police Department, responded on the scene.

The incident occurred during an Employee Appreciation Day event hosted by Rock Energy Cooperative. While demonstrating equipment, a 59-year-old man employee from Milton, and a 62-year-old woman Janesville, fell approximately 10 feet from an extended boom on the truck.
