KILLEEN, Texas – A 49-year-old woman has died following a single-vehicle crash early Tuesday morning, according to the Killeen Police Department. The incident occurred at the intersection of Veterans Memorial Blvd. and 38th Street.Officers were dispatched at 2:58 a.m. and discovered a white Kia sedan partially on fire, with witnesses administering first aid to the driver. Emergency responders transported the woman to Carl R. Darnall Medical Center in critical condition. Preliminary investigations suggest the vehicle was traveling eastbound at high speed when it veered off the road, striking multiple utility poles.The driver, who was the sole occupant, was pronounced dead at 4:17 a.m. by Justice of the Peace Gregory Johnson, who has ordered an autopsy at the Southwest Institute of Forensic Science in Dallas.
