Staggering California Atmospheric River Stats: 98 MPH winds, 20-inches of snow; 17-inches of snow

An intense atmospheric river continues to batter the West Coast, bringing heavy rain, high winds, and mountain snow to California, Oregon, and Washington. The National Weather Service has issued Gale Warnings offshore and Storm Warnings for Washington. Northern California faces Flood Warnings, while High Wind Warnings and Winter Storm Warnings extend through the Cascades and Sierra Nevada.

Rainfall totals have exceeded 17 inches in Venado, California, with parts of Oregon seeing over 7 inches. Snowfall of up to 20 inches was recorded in Soda Springs, California, and Galena, Idaho. Wind gusts reached a staggering 98 mph in California’s Mattole Road area.
