Eastern Ohio and western Pennsylvania has dealt with rounds of flurries and snow showers over the last few days, but the first weekend of the year will draw to a close with quieter weather. Sunday will feature a few intervals of sunshine, but temperatures will struggle to reach the mid 20s in the afternoon.
Meanwhile, a significant winter storm will become better organized across the lower Ohio Valley Sunday. This system will bring impactful snow and ice to millions of people from Kansas City to Washington, DC from Sunday through Monday night. Our local area will be far enough north that a major snow accumulation is unlikely. However, a period of snow early in the day Monday can lead to a slower-than-normal morning commute.
