A man was arrested early yesterday at Lindsay Ford in downtown Wheaton after officers responded to an alarm and found him inside the dealership with stolen keys and property linked to a vehicle that wasn’t his. He was charged with burglary, destruction of property, and his outstanding arrest warrant was also addressed.
District 4 (4D) Montgomery County Police Department (MCPD) Commander David Smith shared the following on Twitter/X: “Yesterday morning at approximately 1:30 AM, several of our midnight officers responded to an alarm at the [Lindsey] Ford in downtown Wheaton. Upon arrival, they found the front door shattered with an adult male rummaging behind the counter inside.
Upon contact with officers, the suspect dropped a set of keys that didn’t belong to him, and his property was found inside a white ford mustang, which also didn’t belong to him. Our officers placed him under arrest and charged him with burglary and destruction of property. Since we were headed to jail anyway, we figured we would help him take care of the outstanding arrest warrant he had at the same time.”…
