Boston inspectors respond to dozens of complaints about cold apartments

BOSTON — Boston Inspectional Services has fielded dozens of reports so far this season about rental properties that were too cold.

Landlords are required to keep properties at least 68 degrees during the day and 64 degrees at night. Boston inspectors visit rental properties to document temperature readings and evaluate complaints.
