Advocates speak out at Billings vigil about rising Indigenous homicide rates

BILLINGS, Mont. – The FBI is working with Billings Police and the Bureau of Indian Affairs to recover what appear to be human remains discovered on the Crow Indian Reservation. An evidence response team is currently on the scene processing the remains.

A 2021 CDC report revealed that homicide is the fifth leading cause of death for American Indian/Alaska Native males and the seventh leading cause for women aged 1-54 years old.
