The Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) announced on Friday that federal disaster assistance is available to the Crow Tribe for recovery efforts in areas affected by a severe storm on Aug. 6.
President Joe Biden approved the disaster declaration, and assistance can include grants for temporary housing and repairs, loans to cover uninsured property losses and other recovery efforts. The Crow Tribe may also access funds for hazard mitigation.
The Aug. 6 storm also hit Billings neighborhoods, leaving many without power and tearing down about a dozen trees throughout town. The fastest winds were traveling at 76 miles per hour.
