Great Falls High golfer Hanna Boyd can’t stop winning — and her first state title is in play

BILLINGS — Playing at the same place she’ll call her home course as a member of the Montana State Billings women’s golf team next fall, Great Falls High’s Hanna Boyd encountered a hole at Lake Hills Golf on Thursday that had given her plenty of problems in the past.

The dreaded par-4, 390-yard first hole at the course in the Heights neighborhood had rarely been kind to Boyd before, but it was also one that she’d have to get used to seeing as a future Yellowjacket. 

Therefore, her securing a par on the No. 1 in Thursday’s second round of the Eastern AA golf divisional tournament — one day after hitting a double bogey on the same hole — gave the red-hot Boyd a sense of relief en route to her eventual domination of the girls individual divisional crown…
