Speed Trap Alert – Google Says No More in Montana
When it comes to taking a vacation, my wife and I generally take our own vehicle and hit the road to our destination. One of the great things about technology is that it can help on those trips when navigating through unknown roadways.
But not only can you find your way with directions, there is another nifty little feature that is a part of using Google Maps while driving. The ability to see traffic congestion, accidents, construction and even speed traps is a huge advantage to arriving at your destination safely and on time. But it is about to change.
No More Reporting Speed Traps on Google Maps in Montana
The Google Maps “incident report” option was a way to stay ahead of problems in traffic across the state and country. It also offered a feature about “speed traps” to warn of a possible police presence.
According to Android Authority, there is a major change in the Google App that now no longer features the “speed trap” reporting option. It has now been replaced by simply “police” within the app.
Reporting a Police Cruiser Causing Problems with Google
The change is to reflect more of what a police officer may be doing in the reported area. If they are responding to an accident, the speed trap option isn’t really a good description of what is happening…
