Police had been called to a Leslie Avenue home in Conklin twice in the weeks leading up to a fatal shooting there on Friday.
At a press conference on Monday, Broome County Sheriff Fred Akshar shared further details of the case, including multiple calls in December related to domestic disputes at the home and an order of protection that had been in place.
“Domestic violence continues to be a very real and recurring issue,” Akshar said.
