NYS urban farming initiative signed into law

ALBANY, N.Y. ( NEWS10 ) — New York State leaders are taking new steps to address food insecurity in urban areas. A bill to establish an urban farming land initiative was signed into law.

The initiative allows land banks to take over empty properties and turn them into community gardens. Supporters said it will help create local food systems and boost their economies.
