TOWN OF NICHOLS, NY (WIVT/WBGH) — A motorcycle crash near Tioga Downs on Monday, Sept. 16, has resulted in one death, according to the Tioga County Sheriff’s Office.
Police announced that 63-year-old Calvin Pierce died of injuries related to Monday’s crash involving his motorcycle and a car at the intersection of West River Road and Tioga Downs in the Town of Nichols Monday night. Police say Pierce and his passenger Carla Pierce, 45, of Ulster, Pa, were thrown from the back of the motorcycle and sustained serious injuries as a result.
The driver of the vehicle was detained at the scene of the crash as the Pierce’s were taken to Robert Packer Hospital to be treated for their injuries. Calvin later passed away and Carla remains in critical condition as of this reporting…
