Record high temperatures could happen again this afternoon. Birmingham’s record high is 88º (1927), Anniston’s record is 86º (2016) and Tuscaloosa’s record is 86º (2016).

The Next 24 Hours (WBRC)

THE WEEKEND: The weather should remain mostly quiet through the weekend. You can expect a fall chill in the morning and warm afternoons. You may need the long sleeves for setup for the University of Alabama Homecoming Parade or the Magic City Classic Parade Saturday morning; however, plan for another unseasonably warm afternoon.

Magic City Classic (WBRC)

Temperatures at Legion Field for the Magic City Classic may top 85º. We could see temperatures around 88º at kickoff time in Tuscaloosa. Auburn fans traveling to Kentucky can expect a kickoff near 63º.

A cold front is expected to approach from the north on Sunday; however, this boundary will likely weaken as it gets near HWY 278. A few showers could enter Marion and Winston counties, but no rain is expected for Birmingham.
