The family of a Gloucester County man who died last year is suing the funeral home that handled arrangements, claiming workers displayed someone else’s body the day before services were to be held.

An 81-year-old a husband and father from Glassboro died on Feb. 11, 2023, and his family arranged with Boyd Funeral Home, of Camden, for a viewing to be followed by cremation, according to a lawsuit filed Sept. 5 in New Jersey Superior Court.

But when the man’s widow and children came to the funeral home to view the remains about 4 p.m. on Feb. 17, the day before services were to be held, someone else’s body was in the casket, court papers state…
