The Indiana Fever are in the midst of a tight playoff race at the moment. They are currently sitting on a 13-16 record which is good for seventh in the WNBA.
Indiana is looking to improve their standing as it tries to close the gap between itself and the sixth-seeded Phoenix Mercury (16-14). At the same time, the Fever are just two games ahead of the Chicago Sky, who are currently occupying the eighth and final postseason spot.
This is exactly why the importance of Monday’s contest against the Atlanta Dream cannot be underplayed. The Dream are themselves fighting to stay alive in the postseason race (they have a 10-18 record and are just half a game outside the playoff picture), so you can be sure that they will be playing with a little more fire in Monday’s home game against Indiana.
