Savannah City Council approved rezoning the northwest corner of Park Avenue and Whitaker Street from Traditional Neighborhood-1 to Traditional Commercial-2, paving the way for a proposed multi-story office complex across from Forsyth Park. Next steps will involve the review process for the site plans and designs.
Thursday’s vote came after the public hearing on the item was held in December. The vote was pushed to the Jan. 9 meeting to allow for more collaboration between the developer and nearby residents.
The result of that collaboration was a good neighbor agreement between the developer, Forsyth Commons Holdings LLC, and residents in the Victorian Neighborhood.
