SAVANNAH, Ga. (WSAV) — Scattered rain and storms are likely Wednesday morning, with some storms having the potential to become strong and severe in the Coastal Empire and Lowcountry.
We have been tracking a strong cold front that has been moving across the Southeast, with it producing some strong storms across Alabama. This system will be moving towards the region late Tuesday night and will be with us mainly Wednesday morning into the early afternoon.
The primary threat from storms moving through Wednesday morning will be strong and damaging wind. Gusts may be over 50 mph in any severe storms however, Wednesday will be breezy and gusty even without severe storms.
Wind gusts between 25-30 mph are expected along the cold front.
Heavy rain is a concern as well. Rain totals with some of the larger cells that develop will be close to an inch between the morning and into the early afternoon…
