Motorcyclist, bystander hospitalized with serious injuries following DUI hit-and-run in Meridian

A motorcyclist and a Good Samaritan were hospitalized with life-threatening injuries Saturday night following a hit-and-run in Meridian.

According to Meridian police, a Ford F-150 truck “made a sudden, un-signaled lane change” and struck the motorcyclist, who was trailing the truck and was also in the process of changing lanes. The driver of the Ford continued driving “at a high rate of speed.”

Meanwhile, a bystander got out of their vehicle to help the motorcyclist, who was thrown off the motorcycle, and an additional vehicle struck the motorcyclist and the citizen, police said.
