Fatal crashes in Brockton, Stoughton; cemetery removes decorations: 5 top stories

BROCKTON — Throughout last school year, groups of Brockton High School students were causing chaos and damage inside many nearby businesses located across Belmont Street , according to several store managers. A new Starbucks is now open for business and plans to close the dining area between 1:30 p.m. and 3 p.m. when BHS students get out of school.

A pedestrian from New Bedford died Tuesday night after being struck by a van on North Quincy Street. An accident the same street that claimed another pedestrian’s life last year .

It’s been almost 10 years since Heather and Shane Craven unexpectedly lost their 2-year-old daughter , Sydney. Shane still visits his daughter’s grave at East Bridgewater Central Cemetery every day. Recently, Shane said he noticed that the solar lights that illuminated Sydney’s grave were missing. Heather later found out that the cemetery’s board of trustees had begun to remove certain items from graves at the cemetery that weren’t in compliance with their bylaws…
