Police Actively Investigating An Early Thursday Morning Fatal Shooting

WASHINGTON, DC.- Police are continuing the investigation into the murder of a 41-year-old man, who was gunned down early Thursday morning on a Southeast, D.C. Street.

According to D.C. Metropolitan Police Chief Pamela A. Smith, on Thursday, December 27, 2024, at around 12:30 a.m., members of the D.C. Metropolitan Police Department responded to a 911 Emergency Call reporting gunfire on the 2700 Block of Fairlawn Avenue in Southeast, D.C.

Police Find Victim Dead

Upon arrival, Police Officers located a man, later identified as Lamar Edwards, 41, address unknown, unresponsive from a gunshot wound. Mr. Edwards was subsequently pronounced deceased at the scene by DC Fire and Emergency Medical Services…
