Maryland investment firm charged in $30m Ponzi scheme

PRINCE GEORGE’S COUNTY, Md. (7News) — Three Marylanders were arrested for running a Ponzi scheme that net close to $30 million, according to Attorney General Anthony G. Brown’s Securities Division.

The Office of the Attorney General (OAG) and the Prince George’s County Circuit Court issued orders against Mathias Bama, Valentine Bama, and Hilaire Leunkam.

The trio, who operated Prosperity Partners, Inc. and Prosperity Medical and Health System, were found violating the registration and antifraud provisions of the Maryland Securities Act. The Orders bar each person from working in the securities and investment advisory business in Maryland and fined them $17,200,540…
