BOWLING GREEN, Ky. (WBKO) – Telia Butler, Bowling Green Downtown Development Coordinator, said 2024 was a year of continuous upward momentum for the city that she hopes will continue into 2025.
“I think that providing extra events, extra services and programs to Duncan Hines Days was a huge, huge hit for not just downtown, but for all of Bowling Green and everyone,” Butler said. “We got a first-time grant opportunity downtown last year for the General Motors Foundation. Anywhere there is a General Motors facility, you can qualify for some grant money for public art. So General Motors helped us invest $50,000 into public art in several different forms throughout downtown in 2024, and there’s still more of that to come in 2025.”
Butler hopes in 2025 to improve parking education and signage for downtown, bring in educational signage for spots like Capital and Morris Alley, and see plans like the Riverfront Park Project blossom…
