BOCA RATON — Eight cold-stunned sea turtles arrived at The Coastal Stewards facility in Boca Raton this month and the nonprofit is asking the public to donate to, and name them.
Cold-stunning is a condition in which sea turtles have been exposed to cold temperatures (50 degrees and below) and subsequently become weak and inactive. Eventually, they are unable to swim and float at the surface.
The turtles were flown in from the New England Aquarium in Boston. They are all Kemp’s Ridley sea turtles, meaning they’re endangered…
