Police investigate after man dies in apparent drowning in Fort Lauderdale’s New River

FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. – Police are investigating after they said a man died in an apparent drowning in Fort Lauderdale’s New River early Saturday morning.

According to Fort Lauderdale police, officers responded to a call around 2:40 a.m. near Las Olas Boulevard and the Wharf after reports of a man in the water calling for help.
