Although the Celtics suffered just their sixth loss of the season and remain prohibitive favorites to reach the NBA Finals again, an incident has clouded the team this week.
An alarming situation
Just four days prior, his mother’s home was broken into while the team was in Washington D.C. to face the Wizards. The Celtics star missed practice on Tuesday to be with her, a decision driven by concern for her safety—but the scary incident still lingered up until the Bulls game.
Jaylen Brown addressed the break-in at his mother’s home: “It’s been a tough week. “It’s been a tough week,” Brown said. “Obviously, my mother’s security is of the utmost importance to me, and that’s been compromised. So, it’s been a tough week. We’ve had media members and reporters outside our house trying to get an inside scoop, but have some respect. It’s been a tough week. I’m not going to lie.”
According to a source from the Wellesley Police Department, the break-in occurred on Sunday evening at the residence of the mother of the 2024 Finals MVP in Massachusetts.
