Tornado watch expanding through Pine Belt until 11 p.m.

PINE BELT, Miss. (WDAM) – Thirty-eight Mississippi counties are under a tornado watch issued by the National Weather Service in Jackson.

The watch, which will stay in effect until 11 p.m. covers eight Pine Belt counties, including:

  • Covington County
  • Forrest County
  • Jasper County
  • Jefferson Davis County
  • Jones County
  • Lamar County
  • Marion County
  • Smith County

Suspected tornadoes injured two people in Franklin County, according to the Mississippi Emergency Management Agency.
