STOCKTON, Calif. — A pedestrian died after a hit-and-run crash on Interstate 5 in Stockton, the California Highway Patrol said.
The crash happened Monday around 12:20 a.m. on the freeway approaching Charter Way, CHP said. A vehicle was traveling northbound when, for reasons not yet known, a person got onto the southbound lanes of I-5.
CHP said the person started crossing northbound lanes when the vehicle hit them while in the No. 2 lane. The driver did not stay after the crash, and the pedestrian died at the scene…
