CT man sentenced to 48 years for execution-style slaying after rapping about it in a video

A man has been sentenced to nearly five decades in prison in the fatal shooting of a man in Derby in 2017, a killing prosecutors say was a “calculated” and “cold” planned attack and one that the shooter reportedly admitted to during a rap video and in a conversation with a witness.

Jacob “Jewla” Freeman, 28, of Ansonia was sentenced to 48 years in prison and five years of special parole during a hearing Monday in the Ansonia-Milford Judicial District Courthouse, according to the state Division of Criminal Justice .
