Fire crews respond to brush fire in Naugatuck State Forest

OXFORD, Conn. (WTNH) — Fire crews are responding to a roughly five-acre brush fire near Seymour Reservoir Number 2 Friday morning, according to the Oxford fire chief.

Oxford Fire Chief and Fire Marshal Scott Pelletier said crews were dispatched to the Naugatuck State Forest fire around 1 a.m.

Residents told to avoid area of Berlin brush fire as helicopters drop water

Firefighters entered the forest with UTVs and brush vehicles and were able to keep it from spreading. They cleared around 6:30 a.m.

But around 8 a.m., a pilot at Oxford airport spotted a fire in the area again- indicating it had rekindled…
