Georgia House approves relief funds for farmers after Hurricane Helene

ATLANTA, Ga. (Atlanta News First) – The speaker of the Georgia House of Representatives, Jon Burns (R-Newington), announced new measures today that will provide relief for Georgia’s farmers.

At a meeting held Friday morning, the state’s Financing and Investment Commission (GSFIC) approved a proposal that will redirect $100 million to the Georgia Development Authority (GDA) in order to provide financial support to Georgia farmers and timber producers. This move comes in the wake of Hurricane Helene, which hammered the Southeast.
