College Station businesses move out, making room for early 2025 construction

COLLEGE STATION, Texas (KBTX) – An iconic Aggieland dance hall has officially closed its doors for good as developers plan to move forward with construction.

Hurricane Harry’s, located at Legacy Point on the corner of University Drive and College Avenue, celebrated its last night over the weekend despite starting off the year telling KBTX it had no plans to close.

This is the last of the businesses located in the retail strip near the Stack apartments which closed as development plans in the 10-acre plot move forward.

LV Collective, a partner of Culpepper, announced plans in March to bring more housing and retail to the location, complementing Century Square located just across College Avenue. Despite telling another news outlet there were no plans to close Hurricane Harry’s in January 2024, closure plans were quickly announced with construction slated to start in 2025…
