Christmas week to bring above average temperatures

It was a much warmer Sunday with temperatures reaching the low to mid 30s. Quite the contrast compared to 36 hours ago when temperatures were around zero. Monday will be the coolest day ahead with highs near 30 as the winds switch to the northwest. After Monday the wind switches back out of the south, and that will allow highs for the rest of the week to be in the mid to upper 30s, with overnight lows around 30. Tonight, lows will drop into the low to mid 20s with a light breeze out of the southeast. Monday will bring cooler temperatures as the wind shifts to the northwest. Highs will be near 30, and there could be a few flurries around, but any significant precipitation will be eastward as a low-pressure will move through southern Minnesota to the northeast into Wisconsin by Monday night. So, if you have plans to travel for the holiday on Monday conditions look good in Minnesota and northern Iowa. Monday night will be colder with lows near 20.

Tuesday on Christmas eve the wind switches back to the south, and temperatures warm back into the low to mid 30s under a mostly cloudy sky. It will be a calm Christmas eve and Christmas. Christmas eve night will be mostly cloudy with lows in the mid 20s…
