WEST BURLINGTON — Many individuals from around the Burlington area got out of the house Saturday for a good cause, raising money for Alzheimer’s care, support and research.

The Southeast Iowa/Burlington Area Walk to End Alzheimer’s kicked off with music, informational booths, and fun activities, followed by an opening ceremony and the walk itself at Westland Mall in West Burlington.

Many of the 200 participants, with 49 teams in attendance, were clad in T-shirts with the name of the event printed across the front, and they gathered for the two-mile walk designed to raise $50,000 for the Greater Iowa Chapter of the Alzheimer’s Association…
