There was a lot of talk surrounding Justin Fields ahead of Sunday’s matchup between the Pittsburgh Steelers and the Las Vegas Raiders. This was brought about by the fact that offseason signing Russell Wilson was taken off the injury list on Friday.
Wilson was expected to be Pittsburgh’s QB1 when they signed him on a one-year deal during the offseason, but a calf injury delayed his debut for his new team. This led to Fields, who was also an offseason acquisition by the Steelers, taking over the helm in Wilson’s stead.
Despite not being listed on the injury report for the first time this season, Wilson still failed to make his Steelers debut on Sunday. This led to another start for Fields, who responded with another strong performance.
