PITTSBURGH — Pittsburgh Steelers outside linebacker Nick Herbig participated in team stretches on Monday, a first, promising step in his return from a hamstring strain. Technically, Herbig did not practice on Monday, but the pass rusher says that should change, likely on Wednesday.
Herbig expects to give it a go in practice this week, and if everything checks out, Herbig will be able to play against the Washington Commanders on Sunday. He has missed the last three games with the injury.
Over the bye week, Herbig went through rehab, hoping to play on Sunday. He has 2.5 sacks and was a rising star before suffering the injury against the Dallas Cowboys. Both Alex Highsmith and T.J. Watt are healthy, but Herbig returning would be a huge boost to the pass rush depth…
